Mantes La Jolie

6th June 2010

The weather prospects were not too promising for the National NPO race from Mantes La Jolie to be flown on 5th June ,a distance of 384 km to Nieuwendijk. A team of 17 hens were entered and all of the cocks stayed at home for another week. The race did indeed prove testing due to high tempratures and a headwind with big gaps between arrivals and many birds not home on the night.

The famous racing hen 'Mystique' (Drum x Doran) wins again for Crehan and O'Connor from Manchester winning 1st Combine against 3801 birds from Mangotsfield. This super hen is without doubt one of the best racing hens in the country and should be favorite for the U.K. candidate for the Polish Olympiade next January.

Davy Barron and Son from the North East wins 1st and 2nd Wansbeck Federation from Rivenhall with a grandson of Caliph (Son Reza) x Poppy (Dtr Kannibaal) and a grandson of Hannibal (Son Kannibaal) x Emerald (Attila x Rianne). Davy likes the Hannibal line as a grandson of him when paired to Genie (Drum x Gerrie) also topped the Wansbeck Federation from Folkestone this year.
