A very special lady!!

This is 'Mystique' a very special hen indeed. She was purchased by John Crehan of the Crehan and O'Conner partnership as our promise to the Children in Need auction orgainsed by Pigeon-Chat.com in the Autumn of 2006. She was bred direct from 'Drum' coupled with 'Doran' ( Ermerveens Hope x Golden Lady). John recieved her in the Spring of 2007 and decided to race her.

One of only two youngsters raced from her also topped the Combine against 3043 birds from Woolaston.
St Quentin

The St Quentin race a distance of 244 km took place on the 24th April 2010. It ended in a close finish with seconds seperating the leading birds.
The club sent 524 birds and the result was:- 2nd,6th,7th,9th,14th,15th,16th and so on.
First bird was NL07-1834126 a direct Martin Van Zon.
Second bird was NL07-3762599 from the Verheyen Hofkens cock x a daughter of Mikes Pick (Theo Ijksout) this cock scored last week.
Third bird was NL09-3951965 bred from GFL-702 a son of Casanova the 1st Dutch Middle Distance Ace x GFL-1198 a daughter of Blue Le Mans of Wout Speirings.
Fourth bird was NL09-1326348 bred from GFL-691 from 'Brother Merckx of Verheyen) x NL07-618 a full sister to the'Wizard'
Fifth bird was NL09-1326315 bred from the 'Grizzle van Dyke' x 'Greta' a daughter of the 'Young Couple'.
Sixth bird was NL08-3857197 bred from GFL-576 'Goldmine' (from Millenium 1st Dutch National Ace middle distance x Dtr Super Crack Olympiade 699) x daughter 'Blue Le Mans' Wout Speirings.
Seventh home was NL09-1326327 bred from GFL-1325 ( Son Golden Mattens x Solid Gold ) x 07-1955785 daughter Wizard x GB 635 (Daughter Drum x Gerrie) a previous winner last year as a youngster of 8th National NPO Orleans against 19,455 birds.

Another son bred the sire of 1st Open in the German International One Loft Race 2009 for Alistair Hogg.
A son bred the dam of 1st Shotton Gold Ring Race 2009 for Mr and Mrs Robinson.
A direct daughter bred Marijke Vinks fantastic racing cock NL08-1522935 'Kilwillie'. In the two most prestigious One Day Long Distance National races of 2009 he won 22nd NPO Sector 2 Blois against 12147 b and 25th NPO Chateauroux vs 7355 b.

Congratulations to Alistair Hogg of Sunny Lofts in Scotland the winner of 1st Open in the German International One Loft Race 2009.
His winner is from his good breeding pair 'Oden' x 'Anniversary Girl' who are responsible for several international performers all over Europe and the Million Dollar race.
'Oden' GB07L02241 was bred by us from Merlin GB06L27682 a son of 'Mascotte' x Agent Starling' when coupled to 'Lucky Charm' GFL 2002-1231 our super racing and breeding hen from the 'Young Couple'.
A full sister to 'Oden' bred the winner of the very prestigious Shotton Gold Ring Race 2009 for Mr and Mrs Robinson of the Wirral.
A new season

The Dutch season has started with two short races.
The first race was from Strombeek a distance of 105km and the following positions were won against 419 birds - 1st,2nd,3rd,4th,5th and so on. The race was won by 07-3762621 a daughter of Drum paired to Marita from Fieneke 5000 blood of Flor Vervoort. This hen has scored well in the past including dead heating 1st place in this same race last season from Strombeek against 1098 birds.
Second bird was 09-964 bred from GFL-702 a son of Casanova the 1st Dutch Middle Distance Ace x GFL-1198 a daughter of Blue Le Mans of Wout Speirings.
The second race was from Pommeroeul a distance of 169km and returns were very erratic with big gaps. The result against 521 birds was 6th,10th,12th,13th and so on.
First bird was 09-327 bred from GFL-1325 ( Son Golden Mattens x Solid Gold ) x 07-1955785 daughter Wizard x GB 635 (Daughter Drum x Gerrie) a previous winner last year as a youngster of 8th National NPO Orleans against 19,455 birds.
Second bird was 07-599 from the old Hofkens line of Verheyen, Merksplas x a daughter of Mike's Pick from Theo Ijskout.
We also had a few calls from fanciers with results of their first races. Crehan and O'Conner from Manchester wins his club against 285 birds with 'Mystique' his great daughter of Drum x Doran. The week previously they topped the Combine from Woolaston against 3043 birds with a daughter of 'Mystique'!
A very well done to W J van der Kruk and son Maurice from Tiel, Netherlands. Their great cock 'Obama' a grandson of '14 Karat' a daughter of our 'Young Couple' won his first race this year from Strombeek against 1300 birds. Last year he won 4th place National NPO from Salbris against 8250 birds. This great cock also scored a 100% record winning 8 top prizes in 8 races as a youngster and became the 1st Ace Young Bird of the Federation CCG 9 against 350 members. As a yearling last year he won 3 first prizes in the strong Tiel club before his Salbris triumph.
We also had a welcome call from Derek Woodward who as ever is as keen as mustard. He won 1st and 2nd in the Lymm Flying Club in their first race from Woolaston. His winner is from his super breeding son of Hannibaal x Gerrie. Now 8 years old and still breeding winners every year.
