Further congratulation are offered to Mrs Smith and Daughter of Derbyshire who after a super season winning 6 on the trot won 5th prize RPRA One Loft final flying as the 'Wombles' Their prize winner was bred from a son of Outlaw(son of Figo, Reynaert) x Rowen ( Dtr. Young Couple) coupled to 'Magenta' their good breeding daughter of Blue Diamond (Wittenbuik x Sissi) x Marita
In the same race Fred Hall of Brighton informed me that they won 9th prize as the JFS Syndicate with one from their 'Hit Couple' a son of Hannibal x Marita coupled with a daughter of Figo (Verheyen Hofkens bloodline) x dtr. Ikon.
This couple also bred their previous winner of 4th prize RPRA One Loft race and their good Million Dollar race , South Africa prize winners. The 'S' part of the syndicate is Steve Radcliffe from Skelmersdale and he won 5th prize in the South West One Loft Race three weeks ago with one from a son of the 'Hit Pair'.

Saturday 12th September saw the last race of the season take place, the Natour event from Pommeroeul a distance of 169 km. The birds were liberated in a stiff headwind and a very tough race took place with the winners doing 1130 m/m.

First bird was 09-411 a good prize winner this year bred from Outlaw (Son Figo Reynaert) x Sara(Sister of Emerald from Attila x Rianne)
Second bird was 09-688 a daughter of Golan (Son Young Couple) x Steffi (Dtr.Golden Gaby). This young hen is a sister to our 08-214 the super racing hen, and she is also previous good prize winner including 2nd prize St.Quentin 540 birds.
Third bird was 09-315 the grizzle winning his seventh prize in the last seven races. He is from a 'Bourgesman' line Dirk Van Dyke cock paired to 'Greta' a daughter of the 'Young Couple'. Greta is the dam of some good previous winners including 3rd prize in the Channel Challenge One Loft Race.
Fourth bird was 09-351 bred from a son of Jonge Merckx the Olympiade Sprint Champion of Belgium from the old Hofkens bloodlines raced by Verheyen of Merksplas x Daughter Hollywood (1st Dutch National All Round) x Daughter Aviator(1st Olypmiade Ace Long Distance)
Fifth bird was bred from a son of Golden Mattens x daughter of Creator of Wout Spierings.
This was a great end to a season that has seen some new potentially great young breeders emerge that will certainly improve the team and results in the next season.
I will up date this news section on a regular basis through the off season as we now have a number of one loft races starting in October. So please check back.
We will also have a few young birds for sale that are currently mid moult, and after another selection at the end of the month, they will be offered in our 'Birds for sale' section in October.
We are also ahead of schedule with our new publication 'The Duif Chronicles' volume 1, that will contain 516 pages of News, race reports, historical items, auction reports, new Ad Schaerlaeckens articles, that will provide fanciers with a good long read through the Autumn.
Jan and Rik Hermans have also re issued the English language version of the Continents best selling DVD of the last 2 years 'My Way' medical advice from the experts. This will also be offered as a special offer with the publication of 'The Duif Chronicles'. Check back in a week for more details.

Congratulations to Eric Higginbottom of Sandhurst for winning 1st Section, 2nd open BBC Bordeaux with a yearling hen from a son of Wonderbar x Miss Uno paired to a daughter of Phantom x Sabina. Eric also won 1st Section ,21st Old Hens national from Lamballe two weeks later with one from a son of Zabel x Lucky Charm ( Daughter Young Couple).
Congratulations to Paul Bamford for winning 4th and 10th in the Europa Classic One Loft Race 2009, with one from a son of Outlaw (Son Figo, Reynaert) x Rowen (Daughter Young Couple) paired to a daughter of Inbred Grandson 'Sissi' x Kelly (Daughter of Golden Gaby x sister Wittenbuik). Pauls second bird was from a daughter of Passendale (Son of Keizer , Reynaert) x Miss Uno.

NPO Orleans II 5th September 2009

Saturday the 5th of September saw the second Orleans NPO National race take place. The National result was dominated by the East sector 4 due to the strong west wind. Returns were very good and as this was the last major race of the season, plans can now be made for the 2010 team. Only one Natour race remains next week and a team of around 20 to 30 will be sent to this contest.
The young bird team has won the Sprint and Middle Distance Ace loft awards in the Federation Altenna & Raamsdonksveer against over 200 members, the long distance award has not been anounced yet but a high position is expected. The Combine Awards against 1000 members will also be known in a few weeks and again top positions are expected.

First bird was probably our best youngster of 2009 the 09-406 from Johannesburg (Drum x Doran the daughter of Golden Lady of Koopman) x Star 300 (Galileo the cock of the Young Couple x Emerald 6th International Sun City Million Dollar Race 2006 from Attila x Rianne). 09-460 is again a prize winner this year including 10th National Sens vs 17334 birds, 2nd against 2054 birds from Nijvel and 146th National NPO Orleans 1 against 19,455 birds.

Third bird was 09-330 from a son of Solo x Daughter of GB04-402 'Glyndwr' ( Young Couple )
Fourth bird was 09-414 a previous prize winner bred from Caliph (Reza of Marijke Vink x dtr Aviator) paired to Lady Marijke bred by Seelbach and Jung of Germany and she is a sister to the famous 'Tips' bred from 'Aladin' x Daughter 'Kleine Dirk'
Fifth bird was 09-401bred from Van Dyke 50 a son of 'De 147' of Dirk Van Dyke his best breeding son of Kannibaal x Kannibaal Princess a direct daughter of 'Kannibaal King' (Young Couple) x 'Marita'
Sixth bird was 09-335 bred a son of Wizard (Favorite Son x Blondie) x Daughter Kannibaal King (Young Couple)
Seventh bird 09-327 was the 1st bird from the first Orleans NPO race two weeks ago winning 8th against 19,455 birds. He is bred from GFL-1325 ( Son Golden Mattens x Solid Gold ) x 07-1955785 daughter Wizard x GB 635 (Daughter Drum x Gerrie)
