*On the 27th November 2005, I attended the famous Marijke Vink clearance sale in Thorn,NL with my friends Jimmy Wearn and Buddy Shipp from Hampshire. Bidding was red hot especially for the offspring of the ‘Alladin’ and his super breeding son ‘Tips’. One of my target purchases was NL02-1616153 known at the time as ‘Future’ a champion racing cock for Marijke and a direct son of the miracle pair ‘Tips’ x ‘Gescheltje Kannibaal’… Unfortunately the occasion got the better of me and I was not the winning bidder. Luckily for me the winning bidders were my good friends Jan and Rik Hermans who bought the cock for their own breeding loft. I regretted not buying ‘Future’ so much that I could not rest until I had him. Shortly after Jan and Rik being the kind of gentlemen they are, agreed to let me have him. He was renamed ‘Dutch Master’ and he became not only an Ace Racer but a fantastic breeder into the third and fourth generations…
The 16th/17th May 2015 was a day that turned out a great weekend for the offspring of our ‘Dutch Master’ not only through coincidence but mainly through a good gene pool and the skill of some top class pigeon fanciers…
The British Barcelona Club held their Messac National with 1,562 birds entered by 223 fanciers on the 17th May after a one day holdover…1st and 2nd Open was won by Mark Gilbert one of the best pigeon fanciers in the country…his two birds were both bred from the same father being a son of Dutch Master. In this race once again Mark displayed his speciality by winning the lions share of pools with these two entries. On the mothers side of the two birds was the top M & D Evans bloodlines that Mark has done so well with.
On the same day Mr and Mrs O.King and Sons from from Norfolk won the North Road Championship Club’s race from Dunbar when 205 members entered 2,315 birds. The father of their winner was bred by Mark Gilbert again from his Dutch Master lines (also Drum and Gerrie) when the cock was coupled to a hen containing the bloodlines of Mr and Mrs King and Sons previous N.R.C.C. winner in 2009 also from Dunbar.
In Northern Ireland on Saturday 16th May 2015, the partnership of Doonan & McGuiness won 1st and 2nd Old Bird Inland
National Rosscarberry 6387 birds….
Wayne Doonan of the top class Cock Crow Breeding and Racing Stud in Dromore sent this message:-
” The National Winner is a cock from my own family of Hereman-Ceusters – Marijke Vink which is named ‘Blue Thunder’ and is a grandson of my top breeding hen, ‘Dutch Lady’ GB 08 L 24675 which is a daughter of the ‘Dutch Master’
Following straight in behind for 2nd place was a cheque cock Heremans – Ceusters – Marijke Vink. The breeding of the bird is Sire GB 08 L 24696 a grandson of ‘Drum’ and the Dam is a direct daughter of the ‘De Jan’ of Leo Heremans .
The 2 birds won over £2500 in prize money”
The Hen GB08L24675 ‘Dutch Lady’ is a direct daughter of Dutch Master when he was coupled with ‘Marina’ a really good daughter of Marina Van de Veldes ‘Sampson’…this hen ‘Dutch Lady’ is quite exceptional being the dam of 7 x 1st Section winners in the mighty N.I.P.A….The father of the 2nd Open winner GB08L24696 is a son of our good cock ‘Matador’ when he was coupled to ‘Miss Beatrix’ a daughter of Dutch Master and Gerrie.
The common thread running through the above results is not only ‘Dutch Master’ and 16th May 2015, but they were all achieved by top class fanciers when they crossed the bloodline into their own top class bloodlines.
