I had a call from Brian Clennan of Whitby last week to report the great success achieved by a youngster he bred for his Irish friends Thomas McLoughin and Sons who fly in the Finglas RPC Dublin.
The young checker hen won 1st Irish South Road Fed Skibbereen Open against 4,202 birds on the 19th September 2015. Her nest sister is also a big winner.
Sire of the Open winner is a son of our breeding cock Tempo ( A son of De Jan x Sister Euro of Leo Heremans) paired to Athena (bred by Leo Heremans direct from the Nieuwe Rossi x Eenoogske ‘The New Dream Couple’)
Dam of the winner is a hen from our super breeder ‘Granger’ (Son of Rocket, Rinus van Gastel) paired to ‘Daughter Drum 802’ (a daughter of Drum x Seven Eleven). The nest brother to this hen (Granger x Dtr Drum 803) is owned by S.Price and Son of Stourport and is responsible for a multitude of top winners including 1st Open Midlands Continental Classic Club. The hen ‘Daughter Drum 803’ was sold at our Blackpool auction in 2012 and was purchased by Wayne Doonan of the excellent Cock Crow Breeding Stud in Ireland where she continues to breed top performers at the highest level of competition.
Many congratulations to all involved…

Athena bred by Leo Heremans from his New Dream Couple (Nieuwe Rossi x Eenoog) and she is the dam of Mellisa NL11-1867279 a winner for us of:-
