I had a very welcome call yesterday from Nigel Langstaff reporting Mark Gilberts outstanding result from Alencon with the BICC on Sunday 15th May.

The day was very testing indeed with northerly winds that resulted in a hard working race with returns very spread out for the majority of fanciers.

Mark had four birds drop together for provisional 1st,2nd,3rd & 4th CS Section 2118 birds and 1st,2nd,3rd & 4th Open 4639 birds. It is very well known that Mark is a fearless buyer of the very best winning genes avaialable and the breeding of his winning birds demonstrates this very clearly. They are a combination of  the original Crammond and Langstaff ROLEX and SPARTACUS bloodlines all NFC National winners that continue to produce winners at the highest Classic and National level, crossed with the fantastic Gino Clique bloodlines and remarkably SOUTHFIELD CHAMP a previous Saintes NFC winner himself and has developed into a phenomenal breeder being the grandsire of three of the four first birds for Mark.  We are very proud to have bred SOUTHFIELD BOLD GB07L02307 the sire of CHAMP from our basic breeder DRUM.

This DRUM bloodline just gets better down the generations  especially in testing One Loft, National and Classic racing. A true testament to the potency of the world famous KLEINE DIRK of Gerard Koopman.

We must once again thank Mark Gilbert and Nigel Langstaff for their sportsmanship by reporting the continuing success of the original Drum bloodlines.

GB22N42601 Provisional 1st open BICC Alencon 4639 birds and a 1st Federation Weymouth winner the previous week, featuring the best lines of Gino Clique one of the very best Belgian National and KBDB National Ace of recent years with SOUTHFIELD CHAMP on the dams side.

GB22N42146 Provisional 3rd Open BICC winner for Mark Gilbert featuring the super ROLEX the NFC Saintes National winner of Crammond and Langstaff that continues to produce winners at the highest level of competition with SOUTHFIELD CHAMP on the dams side.

GB21N61499 provisional 4th Open BICC Alencon for Mark Gilbert bred from a double granddaughter of the famous GOLDEN PRINCE of Gino Clique with SOUTFIELD CHAMP once again n the other side of the pedigree.

In the same race from Alencon we are also deilghted to hear from Lee Bastone that his father Dave cloked two birds for Provisional 2nd and 3rd Section ES against 1498 birds and both should finish early in the top twenty open. Again these are from our lines that win time and time again from Classic and National races.

First bird was from a son of JUNIOR one of the original sons of our YOUNG COUPLE coupled to BONNY a top breeding daughter of OUTLAW and ROWEN that is dam of amongst others BASIL ‘The Racing Machine raced by Garry Inkley. Dam of Dave Bastones first bird was from his own tried and tested bloodlines.

Second bird was bred in our Dutch Loft from a son of WOLVERINE bred by Mike Ganus with a daughter of SUN CITY . Dam of the send timer was a daughter of our PORTUGAL PAIR.

The very best of GFL in our Dutch breeding loft.

We must also mention Garry Inkley who reports his great hen GB21N65893 winner of 1st BBO Federation Exeter 1108 birds on the 29th April 2023..and a previous winner of four first prizes and 34th NFC Guernsey as a yearling against 4367 birds also timed again very early to provisionally win another top twenty open result from BICC Alencon to add to her already impressive CV.

She is bred from a son of RENEGADE x GOLD DUST WOMAN with a daughter of  the incredible BASIL ‘The Racing Machine’ paired to a  daughter of JUNIOR (Last Son of the YOUNG COUPLE) x RHIANNON that won for Garry  *1st Fed Blandford 1962 birds *2nd Fed Yeovil 2,880 birds *40th BICC Guernsey YB Nat 2188 birds *161st NFC Countances YB Nat 2160 birds. This same hen bred Paul Weems 1st North West Section in the first Central Southern Classic Flying Club race last season from Guernsey whilst on loan from Garry. Just great multiple performance bloodlines raced by a top fancier.

Renegade a direct son of Outlaw x Lady King…

Gold Dust Woman bred by Koen Minderhoud from his renowned Champion Geelooger…she is producing some top winning offspring from the start…

Very well done indeed to all involved…
