*Top Star is still proving to provide winning DNA in further generations with our first birds descending from him.
In a very disrupted season we got the 2020 young bird season under way in Brabant.
First race was from Bierges approx 117 km to Nieuwendijk.
The birds came well with 7 birds in the top 44 Combine against 3557 birds. It was an erratic race with big gaps and losses. However it sets the team up for the bigger races ahead.
Pedigrees of six of the seven birds are displayed with our third bird coming from friend Maurice Krijsman who has pigeons from us and the bird NL-20-1462513 was bred of Son Belofte x Daughter Special One.
The great disappointment this week was our first bird bred from a son of Junior and Wind Chimes when paired to Murphy’s Diamond the daughter of Murphy’s Law of Willem de Bruijn had a broken chip ring. It was okay in training and marking but would not register at home on race day. Our second bird was one and a half minutes behind and was clocked first. The time of our first arrival would have won the club against 533 birds and would of been good enough for a top 4 Combine position. However as we all know its what is in the clock that counts. I am sure our young hen with her new chip ring will have plenty more opportunities to score again.
