Cleopatra 111 of G.W & P Macaloney…

In September 2004 I had a visit from Willie Macaloney from Scotland. Willie and I had got to know each other through a mutual fancier friend George Lawrence of the Wirral and the next time Willie travelled south we arranged for him to come over to North Wales.

Willie immediately wasted no time in selecting a few of our Kannibaal bloodline youngsters to reinforce their already fearsome team back home and due to their skill and dedication they made a success of the majority of our bloodlines crossed with their own.

Late in the summer of 2004 we tried an experiment pairing of Zabel a truly magnificent son of   Van Dykes Kannibaal to  Gerrie a daughter of Gerard Koopmans famous Kleine Dirk that was starting to breed some very good performers. The result was a hen single reared that we kept for our own breeding loft that we named Cleopatra and a nest pair of small hens that had just been weaned a few days before Willie visited and these two hens were gifted to him.

All three of the Cleopatra sisters bred fantastically well and a recent viewing of the Macaloney families web site reminded me of Willies first visit. I must also say that it is a measure of the Macaloney’s sportsmanship and integrity that they featured the Cleopatra hen on their site giving credit to us as the breeder. Of course we can not help feeling a little proud of our association with a breeding hen of this calibre.
