Di Caprio of Heremans-Ceusters is now owned by Dirk Van Dyke and is proving to be an exceptional breeder as well as a super racer.
His bloodline is now to be found in a good number of the big winners in the famous Antwerp Union and many important Provincial race winners. Not only in Antwerp and Belgium, but also in the Netherlands and Germany, Di Caprio is making a big impact in short, middle and one day long distance results.
As for his bloodline he is from the best of the best of Antwerp of the last 25 years. His father is Jackpot now owned by Eijerkamp and a son of the famous Olympiade of Gust Jansen of Beerse, winner of 2nd Nat.As Duif Short Distance KBDB 2002 and Belgian Olympiade Bird Lievin 2003. Dam of Jackpot is Blauw Kampioentje of Jan Diels winner of 1st Noyon 3262b,1st Quievrain 2960b. As for Di Caprio’s mother she is a daughter of Super 799 bred from a brother of Van Dykes Kannibaal with a grand daughter of Houben’s Sony. Super 799 is sire of many 1st prize winners and also grand sire of the famous Euro. Super 799 was paired to the 700 Duiven bred by Maurice Hasendonckx and she is dam of B00-404 winner of 7 x 1st ~ B99-142 winner of 5 x 1st ~ B99-202 winner of 3 x 1st and she is also grand dam of Euro.
We have had success with this line crossed with the Drum line right from the off including 13th Dutch National Ace Young Bird 2011 …so we wanted some more for the breeding loft.
On a recent trip to Zandhoven we collected another half a dozen from him when paired to daughters of Kannibaal…hopefully next year we will select some more when paired to different hens.
Dear Peter,
Not that my comments will count for much, however I do believe that your strategy of aquiring performance pigeons rather than commercial names can only benefit the UK fanciers by your making available these lines. Clearly the UK has been brainwashed into buying fancy strain names for commercial gain rather than seeking to better their performances by adopting your own strategy. I personally was a brainwashed by commercialism fancier until I stumbled onto your website and learned of your strategy a couple of years ago. I now see the benefits in purchasing birds from you and I do admit that I do not feel the need to ask for a particular strain when purchasing from you.
Kind Regards
Alan Mann
ps. Don’t forget to select me a nice hen as previously arranged..The last young cock that you sent is really coming along fine.
Hi Alan,
Thanks for your message.
We have all got to keep trying to breed better. In the end the best way is only about results.
Best regards,
Peter Fox
Could you let me know when I would be able to purchase decentants fron Di Caprio crossed with your Kanibaal lines? and the approximate cost oer bird.
Lovely pigeon perfectly balanced by the photos
Ian,
Thank you for your enquiry.
We will have a selection of birds for sale from our Heremans Ceusters lines by auction in Dublin and Blackpool in the Autumn, some of which will be grandchildren of Di Caprio.
I also have a really super quality Blue cock that we weaned two weeks ago from Mario and Anabelle. Both birds are in our breeders profiles for your further information.
It was my intention to offer him for sale in a selection of birds that we intend to sell on our site in early September. If he is of interest to you he is £300.
Best regards,
Peter Fox,
