Little Star a top breeding hen...

Saturday 5th April 2014 saw the first race of the season from a new race point 
Asse Zellik a distance of around 109km to Nieuwendijk.

This week the birds raced only for club and Federation prizes and theCombine Union 
de Baronie begins next week.
Club result against 310 birds ~1st,2nd,6th etc
Altena & Raamsdonksveer against 1242 birds ~ 3rd,4th,18th etc

Our first two birds were timed at a dead heat for 1st and 2nd prizes recording the 
same speed to the third decimal point. However we have to nominate a winner..

Our winner this week is 13-04627 a prize winner last season as a young bird and he 
is bred from Arturo a super son of our great breeding cock Attila (Kannibaal x Zuster 
Samson) paired with Little Star bred by Dirk van Dyck and she is a direct daughter of 
Di Caprio. Dam of our first bird is Witpen Las Vegas bred by Van Toor Brothers direct 
from their Super Star Hen Las Vegas.

Our second bird this week is 13-04629 bred from Witpen Drum (Drum x Little Star) 
when he was coupled with Anabelle bred by Leo Heremans directly from his famous 
Safier Couple.

Our third bird is 11-3033847 'Blue Baron'. This is a son of Super 8 and he already 
has an impressive list of prizes. We will update his prize results and photo and post 
it on our site before the end of the week.

This Beautiful hen is Belg 2008-6338893 'Little Star'. She was bred by Dirk Van Dyck from Di Caprio that was bred and raced by Heremans Ceusters and purchased by Dirk at  their entire clearance sale in 2007. Di Caprio has proven to be as good a breeder as  he was a racer and he is sire of amongst others the 'Olympic Niels'. 'Little Star' also has a top class breeding record that included being grand dam to  our 1st and 2nd winners this week.(When she was paired to different cocks). Although this week was a short race Little Star also bred our winner of 140th in the  final of the last South Africa Million Dollar Race from over 600 km in really tough  conditions. As a matter of Interest a full sister to Little Star bred grand dam of  the winner of the last Million Dollar Race that was purchased by GFL.
