Had two phone calls today regarding last Sundays tough Fougeres NFC race. Returns seams to be an issue however thats Pigeon Racing.

Had a call from Jack Walker an out and out old school pigeon fancier and gentleman reporting his pals Astbury and Horton from Cannock winning provisional 1st and 25th Open with one bred from a pair off their friend Frank Jones out of Jack Walkers brilliant Johannesburg hen.  This hen really was a sensational breeder and her bloodline still remains at the very top,

Johannesburg was a son of DRUM and DORAN a daughter of GOLDEN LADY and ERMERVEENS HOPE of Gerard Koopman and that makes him a full brother to many great pigeons including MYSTIQUE bred by us and raced by Crehan and O’Connor. He is also the sire of PHAROAH the cock of our top breeders THE PORTUGAL PAIR.

‘Johannesburg’ yet another top breeding son of Drum whose descendants stand the test of time !

Another very welcome call was from Ken Wise of Iselworth reporting his good yearling cock  ‘DE 111’ winning provisional 4th Section E and 44th Open a week after the same cock topped the Three Borders Federation from  Wincanton.  Obviously a serious candidate for the future.

The Sire of DE 111 was bred from a son of our great Glyndwr Cock (Young Couple) x  Daughter Propere Rik x Foxy Lady and the dam is from Kens National winner with her own sire his number one breeder Shadow of Death!

De 111 1st Three Borders Fed Wincanton and a week later provisional 4th Section E  , 44th Open NFC Fougeres over 6000  birds in two very different types of racing conditions for Ken Wise.  What a great future this yearling cock hopefully has.
