The photo is of Man a War named after the legendary 1920’s American Racehorse. The pigeon ‘Man a War’ was also a top class performer winning 1st Dutch National Ace Young Bird in 2000…

*I read with great interest and pride the performance of some of our bloodlines in the Mike Lakin report of the M.N.F.C. first race of the 2013 season from Carentan against 8,406 birds.

The winner Mr Les Morris of Southport of course deserves full credit for his magnificent performance of winning 1st Open on a very testing day with an excellent pigeon that carries the Vandenabeele bloodline mainly through M & D Evans of Myrtle Lofts.

I must also express my own admiration and congratulations to Bauress & Murray of Liverpool for their fantastic performance  of winning 1st Yearling National and 2nd Open also winning 1st Liverpool Classic Club with their yearling grizzle cock bred on the mothers side from the Ludo Claessens bloodlines crossed with one from Jimmy’s superb Man a War pigeon. Jimmy is a Top Man and deserves all of the success achieved together with his partner.

I must also congratulate Bob Tudor on winning 3rd Open with one from his Beeston Castle 2b winner via George Lawrence of West Kirby. The breeding on the sires side is from our original Vandenabeele (Picanol) crossed with Zoontjens (Conimix) bloodline has performed for them at the highest level for a good number of years.

Also not forgetting Leach Brothers of Hebden Bridge with 2nd Section and a very impressive 75th Open in a difficult location with one from their good Zabel x Doran cock that has given them some golden moments…
