We are very pleased to receive a report of another Up North Combine winner through our bloodlines.
On July 7th Naylor , Sons and Richardson of Murton won 1st Up North Combine Reims against 3,265 birds also winning 1st N.E.C.C. and 1st Two Rivers C.C. in a stiff headwind and baking heat with their yearling Checker Pied pied hen NEHU 17 NEC 2140 now known as ‘Heatwave’.
Her sire was bred jointly by Leach Brothers of Hebden Bridge and Brian Clennan of Whitby who both share a breeding loft. The sire was bred from ‘Gold Rush’ a full brother to Leach Brothers base breeder ‘The Syndicate Cock’ (Zabel x Doran) when coupled to ‘Rio Gold’ a daughter of Granger with Daughter Drum 803.
Dam of ‘Heatwave’ was bred by Jack Walker of Cannock from his fantastic breeding hen ‘Drummers Girl’ a direct daughter of Drum and Little Star (Daughter Di Caprio) when she was coupled with a Myrtle Lofts cock from their famous Shadow bloodline.
The hen ‘Rio Gold’ is the nest sister to our own top breeder ‘War Drum’ sire of 15 x 1st Federation winners and she is a really super breeding hen in her own right being dam of Sayers Brothers of Skinningrove 2nd Up North Combine,2nd N.E.H.U. Open from Eastbourne in 2016 against over 26,000 birds and she is also dam of Thomas McLougin and Son of Finglas ,Dublin 1st Irish South Road Fed Skibbereen Open in 2015 against 4,202 birds and now 1st Up North Combine Reims 2018 against more than 3,000 birds for Naylor ,Sons and Richardson among many other to performers. Interestingly ‘Heatwave’ not only inherited ‘Rio Gold’s’ winning genes but she is also a carbon copy in looks, feather and eye colour.
Very best congratulations indeed to all concerned.

‘Rocket’ a super racer and world class breeder and is now in the pedigree of 1st UNC Reims 3,265 birds…
