*This is a really nice young blue cock bred by Jan and Rik Hermans from their super racing hen ‘Friendship’. He was bred in the late summer 2015 after ‘Friendship’ had finished her racing season that included wining the very testing Chateauroux Belgian National against 25.710 yearlings and 1st Overall Total Liberation against 44,314 Old Birds and Yearlings flying the longest distance on the day!
Although he is a late bred with 8 nest flights he is maturing into a fantastic specimen of a type that we are all looking for. His nest brother that is of identical quality is for sale in the Duif auction In Blackpool next Friday night and I am sure his new owner will be as pleased with the quality and sheer class of their bird as we are.
What can we pair this young cock to?
I can think of a few candidates however after selecting through some 2015 late breds in our own aviary there is probably an ideal candidate in GB15S98211 ‘Haf’ (pronounced exactly like ‘halve’ in English meaning summer). Although she is again a late bred with 9 nest flights it is worth waiting until the weather gets warmer in May to couple this pair.
She is magnificent even at this young age …perfect in the hand…very muscular..tight vents..and a pedigree that would fit in with ‘Son Friendship’ perfectly , with high performance wins against thousands of entries. Her father is our top breeder ‘CALIPH’ a son of REZA bred raced by Marijke Vink and considered the best middle distance bird ever in Dutch Pigeon Sport with*1st Chantilly 10,589 birds *1st Peronne 29,332 birds and *1st Chantilly 21,892 birds. Her mother is direct from HARRY of Jan Hooymans with his record of *1st Dutch National Ace Fond WHZB ’09 *1st Blois 37.728 birds *1st Chateauroux 22.340 birds *3rd Chateaudun 21.520 birds.
So we have a plan at least for one couple in 2016!
