This is a nice photo of our old Granger cock.He is a son of the famous Dutch National Ace winner ‘Rocket’ bred and raced by Rinus Van Gastel of Roosendal from his original old Jacques Tournier bloodlines.
‘Rocket’ could have been the only back to back winner of 1st Dutch National Ace if Mr Van Gastel would have entered his results the previous year. Over the last 15 years he has also proven to be one of the most successful breeders of his generation.
We are very happy that this year at 14 years of age both Granger and his full brother Indiana are fertile…
* I had a call from Steve Price from Stourport yesterday to say they had won 5th Open in the tough Midlands National Flying Club race from Fougeres against 8,443 birds.
Their winner was bred from a two year old son of Granger and Mary Kate when he was crossed with their excellent original Ray Forbes Soontjens bloodlines.
Steve has had remarkable success with the Granger bloodline and this latest performance joins a long list of raced grandchildren that have won in the best competition.
This season their fantastic racing hen GB12S 66202 (from daughter Granger x Dtr Drum) racing in the Worcester and District Fed won 1st Frome 3700 birds, 1st Frome 4516 birds and 20th Frome 3562 birds. This hen also won 2nd Open M.C.C. Carentan last season. The nest mate of this hen won 3 x first in the Black Country Federation.
Last season they also won 1st in the Teurlings Gold Ring Classic race from Carentan with one from another son of Granger (also with Mary Kate) and the nest mate was also a 1st Black Country Federation winner.
Many congratulations once again…
