The first five in the Worcester Federation against 3,500 birds from Frome in the first race of the season…winning 1st M.C.C. last week in a very unfavourable wind … and I had a call from Steve yesterday evening to say the form continues and they are provisionally 1st and 3rd Section, 3rd and 11th Open in the Midlands National Flying Club’s race from Fourgeres against 8,359 birds again in an unfavourable wind!

when he was paired to a daughter of our fantastic young breeding couple Bandit (Outlaw x Rowen) x Moonglow (Drum x Joy).
This pair Bandit and Moonglow have bred us good pigeons every year. In 2011 they bred GB11-129 EMERALD ACE winner of 1st Ace Pigeon Emerald Classic One Loft Race 2011 against 658 entries with a 17 minute lead~ In 2012 they bred GB12-402 AMAZING winner of 1st Grimbergen 587 birds (32nd Combine 6,233 birds), 1st Creil 477 birds (16th Nat. NPO 25.437 birds), 2nd Nijvel 483 birds (74th Combine 5,989 birds), 3rd Peronne 227 birds (68th Combine 3,449 birds), 4th Grimbergen 344 birds (83rd Combine 4,609 birds), 5th Creil 268 birds (50th Combine 2,775 birds),7th Nijvel 400 birds (28th Combine 4.188 birds)~ In 2013 they bred GB13-636 ‘King Crimson’ winner of 1st U.K.304 birds, 3rd International 4,065 birds Car Race SAMDPR, 2nd U.K.319 birds,8th International 4,028 birds Training Race SAMDPR and in 2014 they bred the dam of the 1st Section 3rd Open MNFC Fougeres 8,339 birds.
Steve says his winner was hawked as a youngster and only had one race, however she has clearly made a full recovery. Her nest sister was considered the best of the two and she has won 2 x 1sts this season!
Steve’s second bird is very special indeed…the fantastic racing hen GB12S66202 the winner of 1st Fed Frome 3,700 birds, 1st Fed Frome 4,516 birds & 20th Fed Frome 3,562 birds last season. She also won 2nd Open M.C.C. Carentan as a yearling!! She is bred from another son of Granger this time coupled with GB10L40803 ‘Daughter Drum’ (Drum x Seven 11) that was purchased by Wayne Doonan of Cock Crow Lofts in Northern Ireland at our Blackpool auction and bred for them 3rd Open NIPA Rosscarbery Young Bird National in her first nest against 4,643 birds.
