Once again I had a very welcome message from Ian Riley flying as Riley and Moran last Saturday wins 1st and 2nd Hough Green 343 birds …1st and 2nd Widnes and District Fed from Monmouth against 832 birds.
Their winner was bred from a son of ‘King Chalon’ (Son Las Vegas) with ‘Claudia’ (Daughter Drum x Little Star). Ian and team have had some great results with this same bloodline having won the competitive Leigh Arms Gold Ring Race with one bred from a full brother. Although ‘King Chalon’ and ‘Claudia’ are no more, the ‘Little Star’ hen is still laying very freely at 11 years old. The results from her offspring into the fifth generation over the years has made her top breeding hen in our loft. She is currently coupled with ‘War Drum’ so as to retain her bloodline in case she stops laying.
Second bird for Riley and Moran was bred from a son of ‘Camelot’ bred from ‘Hannibal x Shinji Queen (Shiji San 1st National Bourges 41,000 birds x Queen L 1st National La Souterraine 18,000 birds). This cock has also bred numerous club and Fed prize winners for them. Mother of the second fed winner was bred by Ian’s brother Darren and is probably their best racer. She is from his Marcellis x Syndicate Lofts bloodlines.
Very well done once again and best of luck for the rest of the season.
