Sens NPO ~ 5th September 2020…

Yesterday was the NPO National Race from Sens a distance of approx 415 km to Nieuwendijk…

It was a very tough race flown in a brisk west wind that resulted in many losses. We once again were very lucky to have had 31 from 36 at clock checking with a few more this morning and although the wind was far from favourable we have to be very happy with the performance having quite a few early ones.

Club 227 birds…1st,2nd,4th,7th,10th,13th,15th,18th etc

Union de Baronie 2050 birds…2nd (beaten by 0.2 m.p.m.!),9th,22nd,54th,57th,64th,79th,90th…

NPO Brabant 2000 against 10,005 birds…. 14th,34th,84th…

A very pleasing club result in a very erratic race…

First bird was NL20-2009611 winning 14th NPO against more than 10,000 birds. His sister also won 6th Provincial earlier in the season against more than 19,000 birds. In this race we also bred the 1st and 2nd prize winners against 19,000 birds for our friend Peter Admiraal with a similar bloodline to our first bird yesterday.

Sire is Special One a fantastic breeding direct inbred son of Harry bred by Jan Hooymans and Dam is Tess a gift from the local top fanciers De Hoogh and Son down from top performers out of Peter Veenstra,Henk Mellis and Dirk van Dyck bloodlines.

Our second bird was NL20-2009604 the same way bred as our first bird last week being bred from Bruce (Son New Harry x Sister Harry) paired with Ivana (Granger x Rhiannon).

Our third bird was NL20-2009618 also bred from Bruce x Ivana being the nest mate to our first bird last week. We bred four from this pair with three scoring early.

This super quality hen is ‘Rhiannon’ a direct daughter of Morris and Bookers famous pair ‘Full Set’ and Pink Eyes’ bred from the very best of our bloodlines via Jack Walker of Cannock.

Our 4th bird was GB20V56132 bred from another promising young pair Little Big Man a son of Propere 10 x Foxy Lady’ with Ariel a direct Rik Hermans hen bred from his super couple Zoon Guus 1 x Red Athena.

Our fifth bird was NL20-1581129 bred from a son of Special One x Tess (Brother to our winner yesterday) with a daughter of Blue Fox (Brother Foxy Lady) x Venus (Daughter War Drum)
