*This is a very gutsy pigeon indeed GB17F06739 the winner of 1st place Taylors Arms Breeder Buyer 2017 winning by over 5 hours on the second day!…
On 9th September 2017 the 247 remaining birds in the much anticipated Taylor’s Arms, Breeder Buyer Race were liberated into a very stiff North West Wind from Carentan a distance of almost 300 miles into Liverpool.
No birds were home on the day , but the winner was clocked at 09.25 on the morning of the second day by Mr and Mrs Stenson followed by another bird winning second place for Mr Bowman at 13.37. These were the only two birds on the second day and indeed in race time. The headwind and very heavy showers on the second day proofed very testing.
We were delighted to receive a call from Mr and Mrs Steve Young of Flint to report they were the breeders of Mr Stensons winner. Due to only two birds in race time, the entire prize pot was shared between the two gallant birds with Mrs and Mrs Stenson and Mr and Mrs Young receiving £11,170 between them and the remaining almost £9,000 going to Mr Bowman as the breeder and racer of the second bird. These two winning birds also received pool money.
We must offer our utmost congratulations to all involved in this tough but top class race…
