We won 9th Open Flamingo International One Loft Race, 2003 with GB03C53555 a really super little checker hen..she flew over 11 hours on the wing from 350 miles into a headwind winning $9000 pools and prize money. We still have her here in our breeding loft and her daughter bred an Irish RPRA award winner in 2011.
Her sire was Joep (Son Hercules x Dtr.Mattens & Sissi)raced by Mike Ganus and Luc Van der Weijst in Alphen, South Holland and was the winner of ~ 1st Provincial Tours 3.757 birds ~ 2nd Nat. NPO Tours 11.866 birds ~ 3rd Nat.NPO Chantilly 13.203 birds ~10th Nat. NPO Chateroux 6000 birds ~ 15th Nat.NPO Orleans 11.601 birds.
The Joep was a really special cock that was named after Luc’s new born son the day of the Tours race.
Joep was a fantastic racer and super breeder. In fact he is the grand sire of one of our best breeder of the moment ‘The Super 8’.
