I had a message from Thomas McLoughin and Sons who fly in the Finglas RPC Dublin reporting their recent success of winning 1st Section F, 1st Open Irish South Road Fed from Skibbereen old birds 2021 against 3500 birds.

Their winner is a yearling IHU20S061626 ‘Young Drum’ and was bred from a cock of their established top performance lines that have done so well for them when paired to a really top hen.

The dam of the 2021 Skibbereen winner was bred by Brian Clennan of Whitby, a checker hen that  also won 1st Irish South Road Fed Skibbereen Open against 4,202 birds herself on the 19th September 2015. Her nest sister is also a big winner. So this line likes Skibbereen!

Brian Clennan bred the 2015 winner that  subsequently bred the 2021 winner from a son of our Tempo ( A son of De Jan x Sister Euro of Leo Heremans) paired to Athena (bred by Leo Heremans direct from the Nieuwe Rossi x Eenoogske ‘The New Dream Couple’). Sadly for us both Tempo and Athena are no more.

‘Tempo’ was paired to ‘Rio Gold’ the actual nest mate to our Top Breeder ‘War Drum’ sire of 15 x 1st Federation winners and countless grandchildren.

‘Rio Gold’ is also the dam of 1st Club, 1st East Cleveland Federation,1st Section 7 , 2nd Up North Combine approx 18,500 birds, 2nd NEHU Open approx 26,000 birds from Eastbourne for Brian Clennan’s friends Sayers Brothers of Skiningrove.

As for these two outstanding nest mates ‘War Drum’ and ‘Rio Gold’  bloodline that is also quite exceptional being direct from our super breeder ‘Granger’ GFL00-457 bred by Mike Ganus from ‘Rocket’  the 1st Dutch National Ace winner in 1999 for Rinus Van Gastel, Roosendal and one of the greatest racer and breeders in Pigeon Sport history and dam of the nest mates is a direct daughter of our legendary breeder Drum.

Many congratulations to all involved.
