*Tony Whitehouse with his 1st MNFC National Vire winner…

I had a very welcome call from Jack Walker informing us that he bred the sire of Tony Whitehouse’s  1st Midlands Midlands National Flying Club Vire against 5074 birds last weekend in a very tough but fair contest.

Both Tony Whitehouse and Jack Walker are top class fanciers and it is just reward for their skill and enthusiasm. Speaking to Tony he tells us that his winner is a real star and has won the very competitive Super Club last season and could of won it three times in all but for loft mates.

The Sire of Tony’s winner is from the ‘Hillcroft Bomber’ bloodlines of Mr and Mrs Armstrong, when paired to Tony’s excellent Verbree breeding hen. Tony bought this hen at a Northern Premier Auction as a young bird in 2004 and she has bred him multiple winners. Her breeding is on the sires side from the ‘Blue Mike’ a son of Super Champ Orlando paired to a daughter of ‘The President’. The ‘Blue Mike’ was a gift back to the Verbree’s from Mike Ganus after purchasing Super Camp Orlando after his South Africa Olympiade success. I remember like it was a few weeks ago driving up to Putte with Mike to deliver the youngster to the Verbree family. In fact it was 12 years ago!!  The dam of Tony’s good breeding hen is the famous hen ‘Tonia’ a full sister to ‘Super Champ Orlando’.

The Dam of Ton’ys  MNFC winner was bred by  Jack from a son of ‘Johannesburg’ (Drum x Doran) x ‘Star300’ (Galileo x Syndicate Emerald) when coupled with a daughter of ‘Junior’ (Last son of our Young Couple) x ‘Rosetta’ (Casanova 1st Dutch National Ace x Syndicate Brittania).

‘Johannesburg’ and ‘Star 300’ have been exceptional breeders when paired together and with different mates. A so of this pair was ‘Son Johannesburg’ raced by ourselves in Holland to win:-

*1st Sens 447 birds, 2nd Fed 1251 birds, 6th Combine 4224 birds, 10th National NPO 17,292 birds

*2nd Nijvel 559 birds, 2nd Fed 2054 birds, 18th Combine 7,213 birds

‘Son Johanesburg’ also bred 3 first prize winners and is now in Mike Ganus stock loft in Indiana.
